Hi Douglas,

Based on the photo, it appears you found a northern brown snake and we have updated the record to match this. Brown Snakes can be identified by the brown stripes bordered on each side by a row of dark spots.

Thank you for taking time to submit this observation. While disappointing to find herps killed on the road, this mortality data can certainly be a valuable tool when working towards conservation.
